La Palma Catering
We cook tacos at La Palma birthdays, showers, graduations and anniversaries, in back yards and at Central Park. The crew brings the grill, cooks on site, serves your guests and cleans up before they go.
In a town this size a party is usually in one of two places: a back yard on a residential street, or Central Park. We cook at both. Birthdays, baby showers, graduation parties and anniversaries are the usual bookings, and at the park it tends to be the Community Center indoors or the pavilion and the gazebo outside.
Food outdoors at a public gathering is a normal thing here, between the summer concerts and the spring festival, so a taco station at a private party needs no explaining to your guests. They already know to walk over and order.
That ordering is the part that does the work. Each guest gets what they asked for because they asked for it at the counter, which spares you canvassing the guest list in advance or arranging anything separate for the children, the vegetarians and the one cousin who wants it fierce.
A town that celebrates how many different places its families come from is a town where one menu has to suit a lot of different tastes. Ours does that by letting each guest build their own plate rather than by us guessing at a middle ground that pleases nobody.
Taco bar, taco guys and taco cart are three names for this same service.
Two or three cooks, depending on your numbers, working the grill for as many hours as you have booked.
A full spread of toppings and salsas, refilled behind the scenes so it never looks picked over.
A self-contained setup that we wheel in, run, and wheel out again at the end of the night.
Your guests choose at the counter, one plate at a time, so you are not polling anybody beforehand.
The meat is never cooked hot. Salsas wait at the end of the counter for anyone who wants them.
A meat-free option is part of the spread, not a special request you have to flag.
Expect about $15 to $30 a guest. Per head it sits higher for a small party, because the same crew and counter have to make the trip whatever the number.
Within that, the figure follows your head count, the proteins on the menu, any sides or drinks you add, and the hours you want us there. Give us those four and we can price it exactly.
Four stages, and the first one is the only one that needs you.
Give us the date, the occasion, a rough head count and whether you are at home or at the park. Flag small children or anyone who eats no meat while you are at it.
We talk through which proteins you want, what goes on the side, and anything your guests cannot eat.
Arrival time and serving hours get fixed next, and this is the stage that matters most if you have booked a room you need to be out of.
Menu, timings and total, all confirmed in advance, so the crew turns up to a plan rather than a conversation.
Send the date, a rough guest count and what you are celebrating. We will come back with a menu and a price for it.
La Palma is small, and the crew reaches the whole of it without the service thinning at the edges. Your guest count and your hours set the price; your street does not.
The city sits tight against Cypress and Buena Park, and a lot of gatherings pull in family from just over the line. We work across it without anything changing.
We also cover Cypress, Buena Park, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Stanton, Leisure World, Fullerton, Westminster, Anaheim and Midway City.

Nobody has to be called to the table, because there is no table to be called to. Your guests wander over when they are hungry, tell the cook what they want, and go back for a second one later if they feel like it.
