Tustin Catering
We cook tacos at Tustin quinceañeras, baptisms, kids' birthdays, graduation parties and staff nights. The crew cooks at your event and takes the whole setup away afterward.
The big family occasions come first here: quinceañeras, baptisms, first communions, and the birthdays where three generations turn up, at the house or at a picnic shelter in one of the city parks. Long guest lists go with them, and we staff the counter to the number, so a hundred and fifty people get served at a steady pace rather than in one crush.
Out in the newer neighborhoods on the old base land, the lots are compact and the yards are small, which is where our cart setup does its best work. We can cook off a driveway or a patio and we do not need your kitchen, so the party does not have to fit around the space the food needs. Kids' birthdays and graduation parties are the usual bookings there.
Old Town is a different kind of job. The restaurants and small businesses along Main Street and El Camino Real bring staff nights, opening parties and rehearsal dinners, and those tend to be an evening with a fixed start and a room to be out of. Tell us the hours and we will work to them.
In the older streets south of the center the houses are closer together and the guest list is often bigger than the yard. If your party has moved to a hall or a park shelter because of that, it makes no difference to us. We bring the grill, the fuel and the food, so there is nothing you need to borrow or hire to make the catering work.

Everything the cooking needs travels with the crew, and your kitchen stays out of it from start to finish.
All we ask for is a level patch to stand the counter on, with enough clearance that guests can line up. No power, no water, no kitchen.
You may have searched for any of these three names. They are all this same service.

The spread in front of them, topped up as guests pass so it never looks picked over.
The compact cart, which is the one that fits a small yard or a driveway.
Your guest says what they want and watches it go together. Nothing was portioned for them in advance.
The meat comes off the grill mild. Salsas sit at the end for whoever wants them.
A long guest list gets more cooks. That is what keeps the line moving instead of stalling.
Five stages, and the first is the only one that needs you.
Date, start time, an approximate number, the occasion, and the setting: yard, park shelter, hall or restaurant.
Proteins first, then the toppings and sides, then any restriction we need to cook around.
An arrival time and a length of service, built around the hour you want guests eating.
The menu, the timings and the price, agreed before your date arrives.
We arrive, set up, cook and serve. Then the counter comes apart and the area is left clean.
Count on about $15 to $30 a guest. Small parties cost more each than large ones, because a crew and a counter have to turn out whatever the number.
What moves it inside that: the head count, how many proteins you want, any sides or drinks on top, and how long the counter stays open. Send those and we will give you the exact figure.
Across the city, at houses, parks, halls and restaurants.
Bungalow streets in Old Town, the tracts out in East Tustin, the newer neighborhoods at Columbus Square, Columbus Grove and Greenwood: we work all of them. At the parks it is usually a picnic shelter at Centennial, Columbus Tustin, Peppertree or Cedar Grove.
Your address does not enter the pricing. Guest numbers and the length of service are what set it.
We also cover North Tustin, Santa Ana, Orange, Irvine, Villa Park, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Placentia.
Tustin is a town that cooks outdoors in front of people. The street fair in Old Town every June is built around a chili and salsa competition, and Tiller Days runs three days with a pancake breakfast in the middle of it. Food made in the open, for a crowd, is an ordinary thing here rather than a novelty.
That is worth saying because it is why a taco counter at a private party needs no explaining to your guests. They already know to walk over, say what they want and wait while it is made. Nobody has to be told how it works.
Give us the date, a rough number of guests and what you are marking, and a menu and a figure come back.

The counter ends up being where people stand. They come over for a plate, stay to talk to whoever is next in line, and go back for another one later without asking anybody first.
