What We Cook At

The parties we cater in Placentia

Quinceañeras, christenings, first communions and the big multigenerational birthdays are the heart of what gets booked here. Long guest lists, several generations in one room, and often a hall rather than a house because that is where everybody fits. We staff the counter to the number so a hundred and fifty guests move through steadily.

A fair amount of that happens in the city's community buildings. If your reception or christening is at the Gomez Community Center, the Backs Community Building or the Whitten Center, we cook there and your kitchen arrangements do not come into it. We arrive with the grill and the food and work from a counter we bring.

Up in the newer streets north and east the lots are bigger and the party is usually at home instead: graduation parties in the yard, milestone birthdays, people entertaining on a patio. Same service, just more room to set the counter where you want it.

There is also weekday work in the south, where the warehouses and light industry sit. Crew lunches and a holiday party at the end of the year, both on a clock, because people have a shift to get back to. Tell us the window and we will have food going out inside it.

What a booking covers

Image: The counter set up and working at a hall reception.

One booking covers the cooking and everything around it.

What we need in return is a level patch for the counter and enough space in front of it for guests to line up. We bring our own grill and fuel, so a park shelter with nothing laid on works the same as a hall with a kitchen behind it.

  • ●Cooks on the grill at your event, for the hours you have booked
  • ●Proteins, tortillas, toppings and salsas, with a meat-free filling among them
  • ●The serving counter, set up wherever you want it
  • ●Staff to serve and keep the counter stocked through the service
  • ●Breakdown at the end, and the area we served from left clean

Service Options

One service, and what it means for you

Three of these are names for the same service. You may have searched for any of them.

Taco Guys

Taco Bar Catering

The counter in front of them, restocked through the service so it never runs thin.

Long guest lists are the normal case

More cooks go on when the number is high. That is the difference between a line that keeps moving and one that backs up.

Everybody orders for themselves

Your guest asks at the counter and watches the plate go together, so nothing was decided for them beforehand.

Spice is on the side

The meat is cooked without heat. The salsas sit at the end for whoever wants them.

No kitchen needed

Your own kitchen stays out of it, whether you are in a hall, a park or at home.

What It Costs

How Much Does Taco Catering Cost?

Roughly $15 to $30 a guest. Feeding two hundred works out cheaper per person than feeding forty, because the crew makes the same journey for both.

Beyond the numbers, what shifts it is the breadth of the menu, whether you want drinks or sides alongside, and the hours we are serving for. Tell us those and you get a firm total.

Planning Process

How a booking works

Four stages. The first is the only one that needs you.

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Tell us the day, what time it starts, how many are coming, what the occasion is and the venue: hall, park, back yard or workplace.

  2. 02

    Work out the menu

We settle the proteins, then the toppings and sides, then anything anyone needs us to avoid.

  3. 03

    Pin down the timing

We agree what time the crew lands and how many hours they serve for, working from when you want plates going out.

  4. 04

    Put it in writing

You have the menu, the hours and the price confirmed ahead of the day.

Questions We Get

Questions Placentia hosts ask us

What kinds of events do you cater in Placentia?
Quinceañeras, christenings and first communions, birthdays, graduation parties, family reunions, anniversaries and weekday lunches for local crews.
How far in advance should I book taco catering in Placentia?
Three to six weeks is the usual lead time, and a quinceañera or a wedding is worth booking further ahead. The date is all we need to begin.
Our reception is in one of the city halls. Can you cook there?
Yes. We work from our own counter and our own grill, so we are not relying on the building's kitchen for anything.
We are expecting a hundred and fifty guests. Is that too many?
Not at all. A count like that gets extra cooks, which is what keeps the line steady instead of stalling halfway through.
Can you do vegetarian guests and mild options?
Yes. There is a meat-free filling on every booking, and no heat is cooked into the food, so spice only arrives if a guest helps themselves to salsa. Flag it on the form.
Is the food cooked at the party or brought ready-made?
We cook it in front of your guests, plate by plate, with the tortillas warmed as each order comes in. None of it was made earlier and transported.
Neighborhoods We Cater

Where we cook in Placentia

The whole city, from Old Town up to the north side.

We work Old Town and the Packing House District, Atwood out to the east, and the newer streets up in north Placentia. Outdoors that often means Kraemer Memorial, Tuffree, Koch or Bradford; indoors it means the city's community buildings.

None of that changes what you pay. The price comes off guest numbers and serving hours.

We also cover Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Brea, Anaheim, Villa Park, Orange, La Habra, Buena Park, Garden Grove and North Tustin.

Your Event

A date, an approximate head count and the occasion is all it takes. We will come back with a menu and a figure.

Tell Us About It

The Second Trip Up

The first plate tells you whether the food is any good. The second trip, twenty minutes later, tells you the evening is going well. Nobody makes that walk twice for a tray that has been sitting out.
