Irvine Catering
Tacos cooked at your event for Irvine birthdays, graduations, baby showers and office gatherings, at a village park, in a community room or at home. Tell us the date and roughly how many are coming.
A lot of Irvine lives in condominiums, townhomes and apartments, which means a kitchen built for a family and a patio that seats six. Then the guest list for a first birthday or a graduation comes to fifty. That gap is why so many parties here move out to a village park or a community room.
It is also why a caterer who brings the cooking is the straightforward answer. We arrive with the grills, the proteins, the salsas and the people to work them, set up in the space you have reserved, and cook for as long as your guests are eating. Nothing is asked of your kitchen, because we never go near it.
The villages make that easy. Each one has a community park with a center beside it, and families book those for exactly this. We have cooked at Mike Ward in Woodbridge, at Turtle Rock Community Park and at University Community Park, and the setup works the same at all of them.
Every plate is built when somebody orders it, which matters with the guest lists this city assembles. A child who wants one thing, a grandparent who wants it mild and a colleague who wants everything are all served off one line.
Three listings, one booking behind them.
Is the crew: cooks on the grills, serving your guests for the hours you have booked.
Is the spread, the meats and salsas and cold toppings, kept stocked while the line runs.
Is the version trimmed down to fit a community room or a reserved shelter.
A lot of parties here happen somewhere other than a private yard. A park shelter with the tables already reserved, a community room booked through the village, an office courtyard at lunchtime. All three are ordinary for us.
What makes them easy is that we are self-contained. Our own station does all of it, so a room with no kitchen access and a patch of grass with nothing on it are the same job. Tell us where you have booked and we will plan the setup around it.
Worth knowing: plenty of village parks, pools and courts belong to the homeowners association rather than the city. If yours does, send us whatever conditions come with the booking and we will work to them.
Everything between arriving and driving away.
Guests say what they want when they reach the front, and that is the plate they get.
Chili strength is carried by the salsas alone, so each guest sets their own, and something meat-free stands on the line throughout.
Nothing is portioned out in advance. We are still cooking late on, which is when people tend to want more.
The whole service runs off our own equipment, which is the point when the kitchen is small or belongs to somebody else.
An office lunch has to be over when it is over. Give us the hours and we will serve inside them.
The station comes apart, everything goes with us, and the room or the shelter is left as we found it.
The first one is the only one that needs you.
The date, the serving time, an approximate headcount and the location: a park, a community room, an office or a home.
We agree the proteins, any sides, and how long we will be cooking.
Crew size, arrival time, serving hours, total cost. Change anything before you confirm.
We are ready before the first guest arrives and we stay on the grills until the room has eaten.
Station down, everything back on the truck, the space left clean.
Figure on about $15 to $30 a guest. Fifty people works out higher per head than two hundred, because the crew and the equipment do not shrink with the guest list.
What changes it from there is the proteins you choose, whether sides or drinks are on the order, and the length of the service. The exact total is confirmed after a quick consultation.
Give us the day, the headcount and the location, and a menu and a figure come back.
Across the villages and the business parks.
We cater throughout Irvine, from Woodbridge and University Park to the newer villages at Woodbury and Portola Springs and up into Turtle Rock. Where you are makes no difference to the price.
Weekday bookings are as ordinary as Saturdays here, because the offices order lunches as often as families order birthdays.
We also cover Tustin, Santa Ana, North Tustin, Costa Mesa, Orange, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest and Laguna Hills.
Those two are enough to start. Add the location and the hours you want food served, and a menu and a quote come back.
