Weddings And Milestones
We cook tacos on site for birthdays, graduations, community events and family parties across Rancho Santa Margarita, at the lake, at a picnic shelter or in a backyard. Send us your date and a rough headcount.
A lot of celebrating here happens away from the house. The lake has a beach club and a grill area, and there are picnic shelters at Altisima, Arroyo Vista, Mesa Linda, Tijeras Creek and Trabuco Mesa. Residents use them the way other towns use a backyard.
So we are set up to arrive somewhere with no kitchen attached. The grills, the proteins, the salsas and the crew to run them all come with us, we set up beside your tables, and we cook through the time your guests are eating.
Outdoors, cooking on site is the difference between hot food and warm food. Something that finished cooking an hour ago has gone cold crossing a park. Food goes from the grill to a guest's hand in under a minute.
Every plate gets built when somebody asks for it, which is useful with a mixed crowd. A nine-year-old who wants plain meat and an adult who wants everything are served off the same line without a separate dish for either.
And nobody has to carry trays from a car. Setting up, cooking, serving and clearing are all ours.
However you searched, it lands on the same crew.
Is the cooks who come out to you, grills going, plates made to order for the whole serving window.
Is the spread: meats kept hot, salsas and cold toppings out and restocked while guests eat.
Is the compact build, which is what shelter bookings and smaller yards call for.
The parks, shelters, pools and clubhouses here belong to the associations rather than the city. That means the person booking an event is often a lifestyle committee putting something on for residents rather than a family planning a party.
That is straightforward work and we like it. A community event usually means a known headcount, a fixed window and a committee that wants to know exactly what will happen and when. We send the plan in advance and we stick to it.
If your association has conditions attached to the shelter or the room, send them with your date and we will work to them. We arrive self-contained either way, so we are not asking the facility for anything.
Plan on about $15 to $30 a guest. The smaller the party the higher that runs per person, since one crew and one set of equipment come out regardless of the headcount.
From there it is the number of proteins, whether you want sides or drinks, and the length of the serving window. The exact total is confirmed after a quick consultation.
Four steps from your first message to a cleared space.
Date, rough numbers, the serving time you want, and where we are setting up. A shelter, a clubhouse, the lake or a backyard all work.
Proteins, sides and anything else you want on the order, plus the exact hours we will be serving.
Crew numbers, arrival time, service hours and the full cost, so a committee or a family can look at it before anyone commits.
We are set up before guests arrive, we cook until they are done, and we leave the shelter or the room exactly as we found it.
Summer here means outdoor gatherings at the lagoon and the shelters, often in the middle of the afternoon, and that puts a particular demand on food. Anything that sat in a tray for an hour on a warm day is not worth serving by the time people reach it.
We cook as guests come up rather than putting out a fixed spread, so nothing is standing around. The food people are handed was made moments earlier, which is as much a safety point as a quality one.
It also means the party can run at its own pace. Nobody has to be gathered for a sitting, and people who turn up late eat the same thing as people who turned up first.
The lake, the shelters and the hillside communities.
We cater across the city, from the hillside housing at Melinda Heights and Robinson Ranch to the gated communities at Dove Canyon and Rancho Cielo and the streets along Tijeras Creek. The quote does not change with the address.
Indoors, the Fiesta Room by the lake, the Vista Room up in Melinda Heights and the Rancho Santa Margarita Community Center are the rooms people book here, and we cater at all of them.
We also cover Trabuco Canyon, Las Flores, Coto de Caza, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods and Aliso Viejo.
Those are enough to start on. Include the location and the time you want to eat, and the menu and price follow.
