We cook tacos on site for birthdays, graduations, team parties and family gatherings across San Clemente, from a Talega backyard to a table near the pier. Send us your date and a rough headcount.
San Clemente does most of its celebrating outdoors. The big shared occasions here happen at the pier or on the grass with food in the middle of them, and that carries over into how people entertain at home. Nobody needs persuading that dinner can happen on a patio.
So we bring the whole thing to you. The grills, the proteins, the salsas and the crew to run them arrive together, we set up where you want us, and we cook through the time your guests are eating.
Outdoors that matters more than it sounds. Food that finished cooking an hour before anyone sat down is lukewarm by the time it crosses a yard in the evening. We hand people a plate a minute after making it.
Whichever term you used, this is who turns up.
Is the people who come out: cooks on the grills, working the line from when you open to when you stop.
Is what the station holds, meats and salsas and the cold toppings, restocked while guests help themselves to more.
Is the trimmed-down build, which is what a Pier Bowl yard or a park shelter usually calls for.
Start to finish, this is the job.
People order at the counter and watch it come together. A small plate is as easy as a loaded one.
All the chili sits in the salsas rather than the meat, and a meat-free choice is standard on every booking.
The grills stay on for the full window, so a second or third plate is no trouble.
Everything happens at our own station outside, so nothing has to pass through the house.
The crew stays at the station and out of the way, so the food never takes over the patio.
The inland communities, Talega, Forster Ranch, Rancho San Clemente and Marblehead, are newer family housing with patios built for entertaining. A party there is usually a backyard party: graduations, kids' birthdays, the kind of afternoon where people drift in and out of the house.
The Pier Bowl end is older and tighter. Yards are smaller, so parties spill toward the beach and the bluff parks, and the station needs to work in less room. We bring the compact setup and cook in the space there is.
Either way the booking is the same and the quote is the same. Tell us where you are and what the space looks like, and we size the crew to it.
Five steps from your first message to a cleared space.
Date, serving time, rough headcount, location.
We choose the proteins with you, settle any sides, and agree the hours we will be cooking.
Arrival time, crew size, serving hours and the price, written down before anything is confirmed.
We are set up ahead of your start time and the grills run until people stop eating. Nobody has to arrive at a fixed moment.
Station down, everything back on the truck, the ground left as we found it.
Reckon on about $15 to $30 a guest. Small parties land at the upper end of that, because one crew and one set of equipment come out whether there are forty of you or two hundred.
After that it is the proteins, any sides or drinks, and the length of the service that move it. The exact total is confirmed after a quick consultation.
Some of the best gatherings here are the unglamorous ones: a club banquet after a competition, a youth team and their families, thirty people who have been in the ocean all day and are extremely hungry.
Those are easy for us and awkward for most catering, because nobody arrives on a schedule and everyone wants seconds. We cook as people turn up rather than putting out a set amount at a set time, so the last group through eats as well as the first.
Inland tracts, the Pier Bowl, and the parks in between.
We cater across the city, from the hillside communities inland down to the older streets around the pier. For bigger gatherings people here book the Ole Hanson Beach Club or the Community Center, and we cater at both.
We also cover Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Ladera Ranch, Coto de Caza, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach and Laguna Hills.
We can start from those two. Tell us where and when, and we will come back with the food and the cost.
